Kamphoefner Addition

The main hub of NC State’s College of Design lies between Brooks, Kamphoefner, and Leazar Halls, divided by Katherine Stinson Drive. With students moving through the area at all hours, the project seeks to create a space that connects disciplines across the college. The proposed art gallery spans the full height of Kamphoefner’s façade, maintaining the building’s architectural language while introducing a dedicated venue for students to exhibit their work. In addition to serving as a public showcase, the gallery offers a quiet place for students to pause, relax, and reflect amid the demands of academic life.
